General Public Rainwater Tank Seminars
The Master Plumbers Association of NSW / and the Enviroplumber program are running 3 hour Rainwater Tank Seminars in conjunction with Local Councils. These Seminars are being held to improve the general publics understanding to make decisions on purchasing rainwater tanks, the requirements, regulations that must be met and who to engage to install and connect rainwater tanks to toilets, washing machines etc.
Over the upcoming months we will be holding seminars at Mosman, Dee Why, Ashfield and North Sydney with more being planned for later in the year.

New Rainwater Tank Rebates throughout NSW from 1st July 2007
As from the 1st July 2007 the NSW Government have increased the rebates available for the installation of rainwater tanks across NSW.
The new rebates will be as follows.
Tank(s) Capacity | Rebate | Connection to Toilet(s) | Connection to Washing Machine(s) | Maximum Total |
2,000 – 3,999 litres | $150 | $500 | $500 | $1150 |
4,000 – 6,999 litres | $400 | $500 | $500 | $1400 |
7,000 litres and above | $500 | $500 | $500 | $1500 |
The rebate will be administered by Sydney Water within its area of operations and the Department of Environment and Climate Change (DECC) in all other areas of the State. The rebate will replace the existing Sydney Water rebate but be additional to rainwater tank rebates offered by any other NSW councils or water utilities.
Sydney Water customers will apply for the rebate through Sydney Water by visiting www.sydneywater.com.au or calling 13 20 92. Customers of all other water utilities will apply through DECC by visiting www.environment.nsw.gov.au/rebates or calling 1300 361 967.
Guidelines for greywater reuse in households
The NSW Department Water & Energy has published guidelines for greywater use in households. The Guidelines relate to single, detached households only and do not include premises comprising of more than one dwelling. The Guidelines and fact sheets can be downloaded here - click here
